LGBTQ+ communication

Today companies, communities and events communicate about responsibility, but communication of sustainability is very often focused on environmental sustainability. Action and communication, with which you promote diversity and inclusivity and create safe spaces and events, are about carrying the social responsibility.

By communicating about LGBTQ+ we increase LGBTQ+ inclusivity and the feeling of safety and involvement. This is good to bring up as concrete action as a part of communicating about social responsibility. It’s about a globally persecuted group that lives on the margin. They lack human rights in most countries of the world and there’s a lot to improve in the conditions also in Finland.

By communicating about LGBTQ+ the destination or company increases the feeling of safety and reduce the stress of travelling/stress of minority and make the destination more attractive to LGBTQ+ tourists.

Destination or company communicates clearly and transparently with words, pictures and/or symbols that LGBTQ+ tourists are welcome safely to the destination, company or event. LGBTQ+ tourist makes their decision based on this communication or information.

LGBTQ+ tourists travel more than average, travel all year round and spend more money in the destination than average. The reason is higher level of education and income than average and
also the cause that they travel to be themselves somewhere else.

We Speak Gay communication is also communication on values, in which context you can also bring forward the set of values of the company or area and discuss dedication to communication of equality and corporate culture. You can communicate internally and to stakeholders such as journalists, media and customers. The responsibility of equality and equality of sexes and them to materialise belongs to everybody, also in tourism.
