When you arrive in Hanko, it feels as though the world quiets down. The scent of the sea, the soft whisper of the wind and the distant calls of seagulls create an immediate sense of calm. Here, the connection with nature begins right in the heart of town, where the sea and the landscape tell their stories. The presence of nature and the opportunities for wellbeing guide visitors along forest paths, shorelines and into silence.
Tulliniemi Nature Trail – the southern tip of Finland
One of Hanko’s main attractions is the Tulliniemi Nature Trail, which runs along the northern shore of the peninsula all the way to the sea.
The trail also leads to the southernmost point of mainland Finland, where the Gulf of Finland and the Archipelago Sea meet. Along the beaches, visitors can stop for a picnic, listen to the gentle lap of the waves and breathe in the salty sea air. The information boards introduce the area’s geology, vegetation and wildlife
