As of January 1, 2026, Morris Fleege serves as CEO and describes the place as exceptional. “Itämeren Portti is a true gem of the archipelago. Here, you can enjoy peace on your own island, with a high-quality restaurant, Finland’s best beach saunas, quality public saunas, and of course toilets, laundry, dishwashing facilities, a waste sorting station, and even a small sandy beach,” Fleege lists.
In addition, septic tank emptying, a service station, and all other services offered by Hanko are nearby. Hanko also provides all necessary boating services, including equipment sales, maintenance, and winter storage.
The marina primarily serves owners, but free spaces are offered to visiting boats. “Our reservation calendar opens annually on May 1, and events such as Regatta weekend fill up quickly. The marina is also exceptionally international: sailors come from Sweden, the Baltics, Germany, and in some cases as far as Australia. We can also accommodate boats up to 120 feet,” Fleege emphasizes.
Completing the experience is Finland’s southernmost mainland restaurant, Hangon Portti, located on the Itämeren Portti islet. In addition to a full à la carte menu, the restaurant hosts dinners, corporate events, and music nights.
“Hangon Portti is an important part of marina life. The restaurant, offering delicious and simple dishes as well as refreshing drinks, is popular among owners, visiting boaters, and other summer guests in Hanko,” says Morris Fleege.
