The best beaches for windsurfing are Tulliniemi and Silversand, which is located on the northern side of the peninsula. Conditions are at their best with winds ranging from southwest to north.
The best beach for learning kitesurfing is Tulliniemi. The beach at Tulliniemi is one of the few places in Finland where surfing is possible. Only a strong storm and a southerly wind create breaking waves on this beach. This usually happens in autumn or winter, when surfing requires a thick hooded wetsuit.
