The history and present day of Hanko unfold beautifully in a panoramic view from the water tower.
During the guided tour, you’ll hear about the military history of naval battles from the 18th century all the way to the 20th century, spot both of the town’s harbours in their entirety, see the buildings of the former steelworks 10 kilometres away, and be captivated by the beauty of the horizon – a truly unique view of Hanko.
The observation tower rises 65 metres above sea level and is also equipped with binoculars. The tower itself is 48 metres high.
