Visit Hanko invites you to take part in a self-directed beach clean-up 17th–30th August 2026. The idea is to clean up our beaches and encourage as many people as possible to join this shared environmental effort for the benefit of the nature we all enjoy.
From the Tourist Office you can borrow litter pickers against a refundable deposit. The Tourist Office also provides you with rubbish bags and pocket ashtrays for cigarette butts.
During the Clean beach clean-up campaign, the Town of Hanko will place 600-litre waste containers at Tulliniemi Beach, Neljäntuulenkuja, and Tehtaanniemi meant for litter collected from the beaches. Explore these and other beach clean-up events here.
